On Thursday, April 11, Dr. Barbara A. Blake, Chief Administrative Officer from Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy of Old Dominion University will share interesting insights on the current enrollment cliff and further outlook on the future of education in the US.
In Fall of 2019, 2.6 million students started university in the United States. In 2020, 679,000 (over 26%) failed to return. More than 80% of U.S. public schools have reported the COVID pandemic has negatively impacted student behavior. The state of high school students is a major concern to the higher education pipeline with learning setbacks and mental health fears among the most prevalent of challenges. The future classroom in Higher Education will be populated by learners who were deeply impacted by COVID- which already complicates the need to create teaching materials and classrooms geared towards digital natives.
During the webinar Dr. Blake will address the following:
- How will we be able to support the mental health of students and how does it differ between private and public schools?
- How will the classroom for Higher Education of the future look like?
- A data-based outlook on successful practices for Higher Education institutions.
Dr. Blake will be supported in a Q&A by Statistas expert Erin Duffin, Team Lead Economy & Society.
