Share of malaria cases in Latin America 2022, by country
In 2022, Venezuela accounted for nearly one-third of all malaria cases reported in Latin America and the Caribbean, making it the most affected country in the region. Brazil ranked second with 27 percent of malaria cases, while in Colombia, the estimated distribution of malaria cases reached 18 percent. As of that year, there were over 151,000 reported cases of malaria in Venezuela.
