In 2022, about 146.6 out of 10,000 male inhabitants in Italy were treated in psychiatric hospitals for some kind of mental disorder. This statistic breaks down this figure by diagnosis. According to the data, schizophrenia and psychoses were the kind of mental diseases with the highest incidence among male patients, equal to 39.7 individuals per 10 thousand. The rate of men receiving care for depression was equal to 25.4 per 10 thousand inhabitants.
