Netherlands: people against adjusting look Zwarte Piet 2013-2021

Over the years, the number of people in the Netherlands against adjusting the traditional look of Zwarte Piet (Black Pete) has gone down: while roughly 90 percent of Dutch respondents were against changing his look in 2013, only about 55 percent were opposed to adapting in 2020 and 2021. Zwarte Piet is the fictional aid of Sinterklaas. Due to his traditional black appearance, it has been publicly discussed in Belgium and the Netherlands whether the look of Zwarte Piet should be adjusted.
