During a 2022 survey, 34 percent of responding TV viewers said they they would less of commercial public service broadcasting channels (PSBs) if the amount of advertising on these channels increased. At the time of the survey, the amount of ads shown was limited was the UK media regulator Ofcom was considering allowing PSBs to increase the amount of advertising significantly.
