Within Russia's primary energy consumption, natural gas and oil took the leading positions, at approximately 14.7 exajoules and 7.1 exajoules in 2022, respectively. Coal ranked third with nearly 3.2 exajoules consumed. Hydropower and renewables combined accounted for slightly over seven percent of the total consumption.
