Weekly electricity price in NordPool spot market in the Nordics 2024, by pricing area
In the week starting April 29, 2024, the day-ahead price of electricity traded on the NordPool spot market ranged between 51 euros per megawatt-hour in Denmark's pricing area DK1, encompassing the western of the country, and in Finland, and 30.4 euros per megawatt-hour in SE1 and SE2, in the north of Sweden. The Nordic spot market is divided into sub-regions to balance production and consumption and avoid congestion of the electricity grid.
Only a part of the electricity supplied to Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway is sold on the NordPool market, while the rest is exchanged through long-term or bilateral contracts.
