Drug offenders in treatment South Korea 2021
In 2021, less than two percent of 16,153 drug offenders in South Korea received treatment. People who struggle with drug addiction can voluntarily apply for, or be sentenced in court to attend, free addiction treatment in specialized facilities. In practice, however, few take advantage of this, with only 280 voluntary patients and 18 court-ordered patients that year.
