In the United Kingdom in 2020, over half of respondents believed that the Christmas story depicted in the Bible was more historically inaccurate, compared to less than a third who believed it to be entirely or somewhat historically accurate. When responses are broken down by age, those in the age group 25-39 were the most sceptical, while older respondents were more likely to believe in the account. However, across all age groups, more respondents believed the story to be more inaccurate than accurate.
