Sustainable services offered by retailers in Austria 2022
Retailers can do a lot to make sustainable shopping easier for customers. A 2022 survey carried out in Austria showed that beside offering certified sustainable products (76 percent), retailers optimize the entire supply chain to lower the carbon footprint of order fulfillment (62 percent). However, most efforts focused on packaging. 65 percent of surveyed retailers reduce packaging size, nearly 60 percent opt for sustainable packaging material, and 21 percent deliver products wrapped in recyclable packaging.
