Most active business enterprises registered in Russia operated in the sector of retail, wholesale trade, and motor vehicle repair, at nearly 816 thousand in 2022. The construction industry counted the second largest number of companies, at over 375.5 thousand. In total, approximately 2.6 million business enterprises were recorded in Russia.
