Chemical industry energy consumption share in the European Union 2021, by source
In 2021, gas accounted for approximately 38.2 percent of the European Union's chemical industry energy consumption. Electricity was the second most-used energy source in the industry, with a share of around 28 percent. That year, the energy consumption of the EU's chemical industry neared 600 terawatt-hours.
