Tobacco smoking rate among Ghanaian youth 2019, by gender
Among Ghanaian youth between the ages of 13 and 15 years, the prevalence of smoking was estimated at 3.2 percent for the male population and 2.3 percent for the female population in 2019. It is recorded that, each year, over five thousand deaths in the country are due to illnesses resulting from tobacco consumption.
