Utilization share of recycled plastic packaging Japan FY 2022, by application
In fiscal year 2022, almost 58 percent of recycled plastic containers and packaging were used in chemical recycling to manufacture products such as coke oven chemical raw materials, synthetic gas, and blast furnace reductant. In that fiscal year, around 682 thousand metric tons of plastic containers and packaging were recycled by the Japan Container and Packaging Recycling Association.
