Age structure in Tanzania 2020, by gender
The largest populational group in Tanzania as of 2020 was aged 0-14 years, accounting for around 40 percent of the country's population. From a gender perspective, there were around 12.6 million males and 12.4 million females at this age. The second biggest group was from inhabitants aged from 25 to 54 years, with 8.9 million men and 8.8 million women. Among older Tanzanians, aged 55-64 years and 65 years and older, the female count was slightly higher than the male one.
