Fat source breakdown of the Japanese people 2017, by age group
This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted in November 2017 about the distribution of fat sources in Japan, broken down by age group. During the surveyed period, meat represented the largest fat source of the Japanese population, followed by edible fats and oils. According to the survey, respondents in the age group 20 to 29 years covered around 29.5 percent of their fat ingestions by consuming meat, while seafood contributed only 5.1 percent to the fat intake.
