On average, women in Mexico show higher levels of perception of insecurity than men. Between March and April of 2019, 82 percent of women and 75 percent of men did not feel safe in the federal entity (state) they lived in. In comparison to 2018, there has been a slight improvement in the perceived level of insecurity in both genders.
