Prevalence of hypercholesterolemia in Italy 2021-2022, by region
Between 2021 and 2022, about 18.2 percent of Italians aged between 18 and 69 years reported to suffer from hypercholesterolemia. This statistic highlights regional differences in this figure. As of the survey period, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna were the regions with the highest prevalence of hypercholesterolemia, with 25.1 and 23.9 percent of adults reporting to suffer from it, respectively. Apulia was the Italian region with the lowest figure of 8.1 percent.
