In light of declining battery prices, plug-in electric vehicles are becoming a more popular option among car owners, with a dramatic increase in the number of such vehicles sold between 2016 and 2018. The production of BEVs is also increasing at a swift pace and is expected to see more than a 10-fold increase in production within the coming years.
E-mobility worldwide
E-mobility refers to the development of electric vehicles to shift mobility toward fossil-fuel independence. The world’s leading countries for e-mobility as of 2018 were China and the United States, but Norway leads in terms of new vehicle registrations: EVs account for roughly 50 percent of new vehicle registrations in Norway. The countries projected to have the highest production of electric vehicles include China, the United States, and Germany.
