This statistic displays the percentage of U.S. adults that believe there are certain circumstances where the patient should be allowed to die or medical staff should do everything in their power to save the life of the patient in all circumstances, in 1990, 2005 and 2013. In 2005, 70 percent of responding adults believed that there were some circumstances where the patient should be allowed to die. In the last 15 years, the percentage of people saying that medical professionals should do everything possible to save a patients life has increased.
