This statistic shows the confidence of American citizens in their private assets and income to last throughout their retirement years in 2009 and 2011, sorted by their respective generation. The silent generation was born between 1928 and 1945; the Boomer generation was born between 1946 and 1964; generation X was born between 1965 and 1980 and the Millennial generation was born between 1981 and 1993. 53 percent of the respondents of generation X were confident in their assets for retirement.
