Nursing employment figures in the US 2023, by occupation

In 2023, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 5.5 million people were working in nursing in the United States. The most frequent occupation was registered nurse with over three million people, followed by around 1.43 million nursing assistants, orderlies and aides. On the other hand, only around seven thousand nurse-midwives were working in the United States in 2023.
