CO2 emissions from the chemical industry in Japan 2013-2022
In 2022, the carbon dioxide emissions from the chemical industry in Japan amounted to approximately 3.5 million tons of CO2. Within the past decade, figures peaked at more than 4.2 million tons in 2013, but had been even higher in previous decades.
To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Japan aimed to increase its renewable and nuclear energy share.
