Volume of imported sugar in Kenya 2016-2022
In 2022, imports of sugar to Kenya slightly decreased by 32.9 percent. The country bought 320.7 thousand metric tons of the item, while in the preceding year the imports amounted to 426 thousand metric tons. According to the source, the fall reflected a depressed shipment of white refined sugar as a result of lower consumption in hotels and restaurants due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
