Coronavirus impact on turnover and production index of Italy's paper industry 2020

According to a research focusing on the coronavirus (COVID-19) impact on the paper industry in Italy, the graphic print sector was significantly hit by the pandemic. The study, involving 187 companies of the paper industry, calculated the COVID-19 impact on the turnover and production volume index between February 21 and May 31, 2020, using as base (index = 100) the turnover and production volume recorded in the same period of 2019. Data show that the graphic sector's turnover decreased by 43 percent in the period considered. Similarly, the production volume of the surveyed companies in this sector dropped by 45 percent between February 21 and May 31, 2020, compared to the same period of 2019.
