Italy: holiday intentions in 2020

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had a significant influence on the holiday intentions of Italian travelers. According to a survey from June 2020, it is likely that Italian individuals will prefer short holidays in destinations close to where they live, rather than long trips or travels abroad, in 2020. Almost seven in ten interviewees claimed that it will be either likely or very likely to spend short holidays in nearby destinations during this year. By contrast, 86 percent of respondents believed that it will be unlikely to spend holidays outside of Europe in 2020.
