In the United Kingdom respondents to a 2018 survey highlighted entertainment as one of the most important aspects of outdoor events. They also agreed that outdoor events create value for local businesses, and a positive image for the local community/destination they are located in.

* The source specifies the following information regarding the sample: "4,435 usable responses have been gathered, of which 2,995 respondents had been to at least one outdoor event in 2018. This sample size Is large enough to give a 95% confidence interval of +/- 4.1% to the overall results. Modifications were made for those who had included non-2018 events (e.g. Glastonbury) and overseas events. A small adjustment was also made to recognise overseas visitors."
