An April 2019 survey among employees in the United States found that 85 percent of respondents stated that cybercriminals stealing client information should be treated as a reportable privacy incident. During the survey period, respondents were unsure about whether IT staff installing monitoring software on a work computer was a privacy threat, with 35 percent saying that this was a reportable incident, and 35 percent stating that it wasn't.
