Number of minutes spent watching Twitch content worldwide 2012-2023
In 2022, Twitch audiences watched nearly 1.35 trillion minutes of video content on the streaming platform. This is more than double the amount of time spent in 2019, where viewers watched approximately 660 billion minutes with of content. In the first eight months of 2023, audiences watched about 851 billion minutes of Twitch content, a five percent decrease year-over-year at that point. Gaming content and streaming platforms surged in popularity in 2020, as people turned to video games to keep them entertained and to socialize during the global coronavirus pandemic.
