This statistic depicts the rate of hospital readmissions in the United States for patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes between 2018 and 2020, by therapy type. During these years, around 16 percent of those diagnosed with diabetes were readmitted within three days for three non-insulin products.

* Figures reflect the percentages of Type 2 diabetes patients who were readmitted to an inpatient facility in the three-year period between 2015 and 2017. These percentages include patients who filled multiple prescriptions. Readmissions are not necessarily due to Type 2 diabetes. Patients who filled prescriptions for any insulin products may have also filled prescriptions for products in the non-insulin category, and vice versa.
